"A Time for Peace"
Artist: Donald Zolan
Genre: All Genres
Size of Original: 30" by 30"
Here Zolan shows a little girl waist deep in summer grasses and flowers. We can't even see her legs and feet. To someone her age a meadow like this is almost a jungle. We get the feeling there are birds and insects filling the air with sounds as they go about their daily meadow-life business. The girl seems to have wandered into the meadow to explore it. Just now she is completely fascinated with one flower, one of a cluster of flowers leaning toward her. It is the tallest one, the easiest for her to reach, a yellow flower with light and dark tones in it. The dark tones echo the yellow of her sweat shirt. The light ones pick up the sunlight in her hair. Getting here was probably a struggle for her since it is hard to walk through tall grass with small legs. She looks as if she belongs here, partly because of the way her coloring blends with the coloring of the meadow.
